The EPIC Storm wants to chain rituals and cantrips into Tendrils of Agony, using Gamble, Burning Wish and Beseech the Mirror to find the pieces. Spell Pierce taxes their key noncreature spells (Gamble, Burning Wish, Echo of Eons, Tendrils) when they're often tapped out from rituals. Consign to Memory can counter a colorless spell (their Moxen, Lotus Petal or Lion's Eye Diamond) or a triggered ability, which includes the storm trigger from a Tendrils of Agony. We cut the slower creature and a mana-artifact cantrip since this matchup is a race to disrupt their combo before it goes off, where cheap countermagic is far more valuable than incremental card advantage. Veil of Summer is a real risk for our blue spells. If they resolve it, their spells can't be countered that turn, and they draw a card if we cast a blue spell in response. So try to bait Veil first or interact before they have green mana up, and avoid relying on counters into open mana.
