Null Rod cuts off Lotus Petal and any other activated artifact mana acceleration, though note it does not stop Chalice of the Void since that is a triggered counter ability, not an activated ability. Containment Priest is strong defensively as a flash 2/2 and does not interact with their nontoken Eldrazi since they're cast normally, but it still provides a solid blocker against their ground creatures. Hexing Squelcher's ward is largely irrelevant since their removal is Dismember and Kozilek's Command rather than targeted spot removal that cares about life payments being prohibitive, and Goblin Bombardment is too slow against their efficient beaters. Watch out for Chalice of the Void on 1, which can lock out most of our one-mana spells like Swords to Plowshares and Ocelot Pride.
