Jeskai Artifacts is entirely built around artifact synergies like Mox Opal, Urza's Saga, Goblin Welder, and Emry, Lurker of the Loch, so Null Rod is devastating since it shuts off Agatha's Soul Cauldron, Lotus Petal, and Mox Opal's mana ability all at once. Deafening Silence also cripples their ability to chain multiple cheap artifact spells like Mishra's Bauble and Lotus Petal in a single turn, slowing their combo-like starts significantly. Static Prison can exile any nonland permanent, including their artifacts, Loki, God of Mischief, or a Pinnacle Emissary, but it is only a temporary answer that costs energy to keep around, and it is a noncreature spell that competes with Deafening Silence's one-per-turn limit, so we cut it in favor of the hate cards. This is one of our best matchups for proactive hate since so much of the opponent's mana and setup revolves around artifact activated abilities.
