Pyroblast stays in the sideboard: Maverick is black-green here with no blue spells or permanents, so it would have no legal target. Null Rod stays out too. Their mainboard has no artifacts, and Eumidian Hatchery is a land, so Null Rod would not stop its mana ability. Instead, bring in Surgical Extraction to deal with Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis, which can be cast from the graveyard. Extraction can exile every copy from their graveyard, hand, and library, and it can also be paid with 2 life when mana is tight. Hexing Squelcher is of limited value since they lack hard countermagic, and Goblin Bombardment is too slow against their efficient curve of Thoughtseize, Orcish Bowmasters, and Hogaak. With this grindy creature matchup, prioritize keeping our core engine online and use Wasteland proactively against their nonbasics, since both decks fight over board state and card advantage rather than racing through combo.
