The Broodscale/Blade of the Bloodchief combo is colorless mana and sacrifice-based, so Galvanic Blast is important instant-speed removal that can kill Basking Broodscale before they go off, interrupting the loop at its source. Its 2 damage handles a base 2/2 Broodscale, and with Metalcraft active the 4 damage still kills it after it has grown. Hurkyl's Recall is a strong answer to their Blade of the Bloodchief or Vexing Bauble, bouncing their key artifacts back to hand and buying a turn to find our own removal or race. We leave our own Vexing Bauble on the sideboard: it counters any spell cast with no mana spent, which would hit our own zero-cost artifacts like Mox Opal, Mishra's Bauble and Tormod's Crypt. The real plan is applying pressure before they assemble the engine. Claws of Gix and Welding Jar are cut since this matchup rewards proactive removal and speed over incremental value.
