Jeskai Energy goes wide with Ocelot Pride's Cat tokens, Voice of Victory's Warrior tokens, and Guide of Souls triggers, so Whipflare sweeping for 2 damage to nonartifact creatures is excellent and leaves our own board untouched. Galvanic Blast cleanly answers Ragavan, Guide of Souls, or Ajani, Nacatl Pariah before they snowball, and reaches 4 damage with metalcraft against bigger threats. Preordain and Claws of Gix are too passive and non-interactive against this proactive energy-aggro deck that wants to flood the board and race us. Metallic Rebuke stays in as a strong answer to Solitude or Quantum Riddler being cast at instant-speed-adjacent timing via warp.
