Damping Sphere punishes their land-based ramp: Eldrazi Temple and Ugin's Labyrinth (with an imprinted card) tap for two colorless mana, and Sphere caps each of those taps at a single {C}. Urza's Saga only taps for one mana, so it is unaffected. The tax on extra spells in a turn also slows their chained plays, though it applies to us too. Wear/Tear gives us cheap, flexible answers to their artifacts and enchantments: Wear can destroy Blade of the Bloodchief, Springleaf Drum, Talisman of Resilience, Haywire Mite, Soul-Guide Lantern, or the Construct tokens Urza's Saga makes, and Tear can destroy Urza's Saga itself since it is an Enchantment Land. Thraben Charm's creature-damage mode scales off our creature count, and their key threats (Devourer of Destiny, Emrakul) are far too big for it, so the Charms come out in favor of the more proactive artifact and enchantment hate. Boromir's counter ability never triggers against this deck, since all of their spells are cast with mana, so he is the other cut.
