Stern Scolding answers Ragavan, Ocelot Pride, Guide of Souls, Voice of Victory, and Ajani (which is cast as a 1/2 creature spell, so it is a legal target) for one mana, hitting nearly every key creature in their aggressive shell. Toxic Deluge is a crucial sweeper against their go-wide token plan (Cat tokens and the rest of their small creatures). Engineered Explosives counts its charge counters by the colors of mana spent, so casting it for X=0 leaves it with no counters and lets it clear tokens, while paying one colored mana gives it one counter to destroy one-mana permanents like Guide of Souls, Ragavan, and Ocelot Pride. Spell Snare loses value since Voice of Victory, Goblin Bombardment, and Thraben Charm are the only two-drops worth countering (Blood Moon costs three, so Spell Snare can't hit it) and their curve is mostly 1s and 3s, so it's cut along with the Edict, which struggles to keep up with their token generation.
