This Gruul Eldrazi combo deck wins via the Basking Broodscale plus Blade of the Bloodchief loop, so Surgical Extraction is excellent once a copy of Blade of the Bloodchief lands in a graveyard (for example off Malevolent Rumble): it exiles every copy from hand, graveyard, and library, denying the combo outright. Ashiok, Dream Render shuts off their Sowing Mycospawn and Urza's Saga chapter III library searches, and its -1 exiles their graveyard, slowing their ability to assemble the pieces. Spell Snare answers their two-mana Basking Broodscale or Malevolent Rumble before the loop starts. Jace and March of Otherworldly Light are too slow or narrow against a deck that can go off suddenly, so they make way; prioritize interaction that stops the loop over card advantage.
