Ruby Storm wants to chain cheap rituals and cantrips like Desperate Ritual, Pyretic Ritual, and Manamorphose to cast a game-ending Grapeshot or Past in Flames, and while Consign to Memory only counters colorless spells and triggered abilities (most of their rituals are red, not colorless), it still answers any colorless pieces they bring in and taxes their sequencing when relevant. Ashiok, Dream Render is mainly useful for the graveyard exile mode against their Past in Flames plan and to generally disrupt their deck's consistency, though it does not stop their mana abilities. Griselbrand and Faithful Mending are too slow and card-disadvantageous against a combo deck racing to assemble a kill before turn 4-5, so we trim them for the fastest interaction available, even though our sideboard lacks dedicated storm hate like graveyard disruption or taxing effects beyond what's listed. This is a tough matchup where our best plan is actually to race with our own combo rather than durdle, so keep interaction minimal and focused.
