This Gruul combo deck wins by chaining Basking Broodscale, Blade of the Bloodchief, and Eldrazi Spawn tokens into an infinite loop, so High Noon is devastating, limiting them to one spell per turn and completely breaking their ability to assemble the combo quickly. Rest in Peace stops any graveyard recursion backup plans and denies value from creatures dying feeding the loop's narrative incidentally (though the loop itself doesn't use the graveyard, disrupting their broader game plan still helps). Ashiok, Dream Render denies their fetching effects from Sowing Mycospawn and mills them while exiling graveyard value. Spell Snare and Force of Negation are weak since their key combo pieces (Basking Broodscale at 2, Blade at 1) often dodge or their activated abilities can't be targeted by these counters at all.
