Mystical Dispute is a flexible counter that taxes any spell by {3}. It costs only {U} when it targets one of their blue spells such as Quantum Riddler, Teferi, or Kaito, so it is cheap against those but full price against their black and white cards. Into the Flood Maw bounces a problematic Phelia, Exuberant Shepherd or Flickerwisp to disrupt their value engine. If we promise the gift, it can instead hit any nonland permanent, such as Overlord of the Balemurk. Nature's Claim does have a target in Overlord of the Balemurk, since it is an enchantment creature. It is otherwise narrow here, because the rest of their mainboard has few artifacts or enchantments, and it gives them 4 life. We trim it for the more flexible Dispute copies and bounce. Veil of Summer can protect us from their black Thoughtseize and Fatal Push, but it does nothing against their white cards like Solitude, Flickerwisp, and Prismatic Ending, so we also cut it in this matchup.
