Scorching Shot upgrades your removal suite to reliably kill Greasefang (4/3) or Professor of Symbology's larger threats, which Burst Lightning's unkicked 2 damage cannot. Boomerang Basics is a fine answer to a crewed Chariot or Parhelion but is a weaker use of a card than proactive graveyard disruption against a deck this combo-reliant, so it comes out. Race aggressively and prioritize killing Greasefang itself over the Vehicle when possible, since the Vehicle alone can't attack.
