Stiflenought combines Phyrexian Dreadnought with Stifle to deploy a free 12/12 on turn one, backed by dense blue countermagic including Counterspell, Foil, and Daze. Meddling Mage naming Stifle is the critical post-board play — it completely shuts off their combo and forces them to spend resources answering a creature before they can threaten you. Defense Grid is equally impactful, taxing all of their reactive spells by three mana and giving your Replenish and Opalescence a clear path through their counterspell suite. Seal of Cleansing comes out because their deck runs no enchantments and only a single Powder Keg, making it nearly dead; Mana Leak gets trimmed because Defense Grid provides superior protection and their 17-Island manabase can pay the three easily. Watch for Vision Charm phasing out your Opalescence or Parallax Wave mid-combo, and prioritize landing Defense Grid early to fight through their countermagic.
