Dimir Excruciator vs Dimir Control

Dimir Control is another mirror-adjacent matchup with few creatures worth sweeping, so Day of Black Sun and the slow-developing Winternight Stories come out in favor of more proactive, resilient cards. Flashfreeze counters their Stock Up, Deadly Cover-Up, or Doctor Doom activations for a cheap tempo advantage, and Qarsi Revenant provides an efficient, lifegain-backed clock that's hard for their removal-light disruption suite to profitably answer. Keep your Duress and Requiting Hex to strip their Bitter Triumph and Doctor Doom before they can stabilize, since this matchup comes down to who runs out of resources and threats first.
