Jeskai Control wants to answer your threats one-for-one with Sear, Day of Judgment, and Jeskai Revelation while grinding card advantage from Stock Up and Tablet of Discovery, so protecting your key creatures with Secret Identity and Shore Up is crucial to keep pressure on. Spell Pierce is strong against their cheap value spells and can even tax a Jeskai Revelation if they're mana-light. This is a race against their removal suite, so we trim the less impactful pump spells for resilience and disruption.
