Dimir Excruciator is grindy with heavy discard and card advantage creatures, so extra Duress helps strip their Bitter Triumph or Theorix Charm before they can disrupt our plan. Torpor Orb shuts off the enters-the-battlefield triggers on Seasoned Cryomancer, Superior Spider-Man, Uldaros Theorix, and Overlord of the Balemurk, severely blunting their value engine. Spell Snare picks off their two-mana interaction like Bitter Triumph or Theorix Charm. Consult the Star Charts and Firebending Lesson are weaker here since they don't answer the opponent's big bodies efficiently, and Shoot the Sheriff is replaced by more impactful disruption since most of their threats aren't small.
