UR Aggro is a cantrip-fueled tempo deck relying on Slickshot Show-Off to pressure us, so a second Mai, Scornful Striker punishes their dense noncreature spell suite (Opt, Sleight of Hand, Burst Lightning, Flow State) for 2 life per cast, which adds up fast in a low-life race. Duress takes away Burst Lightning or another key spell before it can stop our aggression. Timeline Culler's small body trades poorly into their Elusive Otter and Pompous Battlemage, and Lich's Relic's slow equip speed doesn't fit this fast matchup. This is a race, so prioritize proactive damage and hand disruption over clunky equipment.
