WBR is an aggressive midrange deck with efficient removal like Requiting Hex and Erode, so Sheltered by Ghosts lets you exile one of their key threats (like Moonshadow or Casey Jones) while giving a creature lifelink and ward 2 to stabilize the race and dodge their removal suite. Surrak, Elusive Hunter can't be countered, has trample to push damage through blockers, and draws you cards when they try to remove it with spells like Erode. We cut the slower Esper Origins and Ba Sing Se since this matchup rewards proactive threats and life gain over grindy mana sinks against a deck that can pressure quickly with Bloodghast and Marauding Mako. Play around Requiting Hex on your cheaper creatures when possible.
