Jeskai Control has almost no creatures to kill, so a mainboard sweeper is dead weight; Deadly Cover-Up comes out since Jeskai Revelation and Great Hall of the Biblioplex are the real threats, not a board of creatures. Disdainful Stroke answers their expensive spells (mana value 4 or greater) like Jeskai Revelation, Together as One, and Deadly Cover-Up, though it can't stop Inevitable Defeat, which can't be countered. Spell Snare only hits spells with mana value exactly 2, so it picks off Consult the Star Charts, Strategic Betrayal, Sear, and Shoot the Sheriff; Stock Up and Tablet of Discovery are mana value 3 and slip past both counters. Karn, Argent Defender is a cheap body that also shuts off the enter-the-battlefield trigger on Tablet of Discovery. Duress trades our tempo for their card selection, a bad rate against this much redundancy, and Winternight Stories is too slow when they hold up countermagic like Negate.
