Izzet Cauldron is a noncreature-spell-heavy deck built around Vivi Ornitier and Fear of Missing Out, making Magebane Lizard extremely punishing since it deals damage on every cheap spell they fire off. Scorching Shot is excellent removal for their Vivi Ornitier and Winternight Stories-fueled threats, killing anything up to 5 toughness. Monstrous Rage is weak since their removal-light plan still lets Torch the Tower-style effects (Academic Dispute doesn't kill, but their burn like Torch the Tower isn't in this list; regardless the Role token doesn't protect against bounce like Boomerang Basics) get 2-for-1'd, and Sunspine Lynx is less impactful against a deck with fewer nonbasic lands and less need to punish lifegain. Prioritize racing before Agatha's Soul Cauldron and Vivi Ornitier take over the game.
