Magebane Lizard is strong against their Duress, Bitter Triumph, Stock Up, and Archenemy's Charm shell, pinging them for extra damage as they cast noncreature spells. Hexing Squelcher gives your other creatures Ward—Pay 2 life, which taxes their targeted removal like Bitter Triumph and Archenemy's Charm and slows down a deck that wants to answer threats one at a time. It does nothing against Duress, which only takes noncreature, nonland cards anyway. Plasma Bolt rarely kills anything relevant in their mainboard (Superior Spider-Man, Doomsday Excruciator) so it's the first cut, along with Tomik whose prowess payoff is low-impact against a grindy removal-and-discard deck. Deadly Cover-Up is their main-deck sweeper, so keep deploying threats at a steady pace rather than overcommitting into one turn.
